Improvements to the station include: elevators for both the inner loop and outer loop platforms; repair, repainting, and refinishing of interior and exterior elements of the stationhouse; and upgrades to lighting and canopy repairs.

Current Activities:Quincy Station has been designated as CTA┐s historic station on the elevated Loop and certain elements will be preserved. Construction contract was awarded and Notice to Proceed was issued in July 2016. New glazing, panels structural bracket supports installation, metal cladding panels, and generator tap box were completed on the east and west elevators. Steel bridge structure, canopy, and railing build out is ongoing on both sides. Electrical work related to conduit and wiring, elevator equipment, mezzanine ceiling/lighting, are in progress. Painting and janitor closets installation are concurrently in progress.
