Robbins TOD Plan Update

Robbins TOD Plan Update

As part of a proposed stormwater solution to remove approximately 140 acres from the floodplain the Village would like to study the area for potential development. The Village envisions a mixed-use neighborhood with a stormwater park to the north. Proximity to the Metra station will serve as a major draw to attract new residents, creating demand for greater retail options and other developments in the area. This project is being led by CMAP in partnership with the RTA. The RTA would contribute staff time as well as funding to complete the TOD market assessment.

Current Activities

11/11/22 - Robbins staff moving final TOD and Industrial Areas Plan through Village adoption process, with expected adoption in December.

9/16/22 - RTA and CMAP staff continue to support Village staff in efforts to adopt the TOD and Industrial Areas Plan.

7/19/22 - The RTA and CMAP are working with Village staff and elected officials to review the draft plan and work towards presenting the Plan to the Village Board for adoption. The RTA awarded the Village additional technical assistance to update the zoning code in the primary and secondary TOD districts of the Village, an initial recommendation of the TOD Plan.
